Biography
SABRINA FERLAND, SOPRANO
Born in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, soprano Sabrina Ferland acquired remarkable experience in her career as a classical singer in opera, operetta as well as in many musicals. She first trained with Professor Cécile Bédard at Laval University and refined her skills by working with reputed artists such as Lyne Fortin, Bernan Labadie, Jean-François Lapointe, Cyrille-Gauvin Francoeur, Brian Deedrick, Jacques Leblanc and Frédérick Dubois. Her clear and pure voice, her vocal versatility and her great stage presence make Sabrina a very sought-after performer in opera and popular stages.
From Fledermaus to Pomme d’Api
Sabrina Ferland’s principal roles in opera and operetta include Cupid in Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld, Arlette in Strauss Jr.’s Die Fledermaus, Gretel in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel and Olga Kromski in Lehàr’s The Merry Widow. She has worked under Louise Marneau’s stage direction and Yannick Nézet-Séguin’s musical direction in Manon by Massenet and has also held the title role in Offenbach’s Pomme D’Api, alongside Albert Millaire.
Musicals and Other Productions
Sabrina Ferland is regularly performing with Cirque du Soleil, in the Festival d’été and at the Théâtre lyrique d’été de Québec. She has held many lead roles in reviews and musicals, such as Cinéma Show, Ecce Mundo, Oliver and Les Misérables. Another of her notable performances was Lucy Baker in the Capitole du Québec’s production of Sweeney Todd. Sabrina also had the pleasure of working with Olympic champions such as Joannie Rochette and Elvie Stojko as she was a solo singer in four different productions of Toronto’s International Snow Flyers. Putting her vocal abilities aside, Sabrina demonstrates much ease in establishing friendships with audiences and her warm and open attitude have been particularly noted.

These large-scale stage experiences fostered Sabrina Ferland’s broad repertoire, while arousing her interest in the production side of innovative artistic projects. Her professional assets, such as a great sensitivity and her pursuit of accessibility are the foundation of Bellita; a company founded in 2008, specialising in event hosting and musical entertainment.
